I think that is a little judgemental. I’m part cherokee. My mother’s grand mother was a direct result of the trail of tears. The trail of tears spawn all kinds of mixed goodness, even people who were actually racially considered black indians. Then later a lot of tribes got a little funky and kicked out or wouldn’t acknowledge their black offspring. But that being said, I’ll be daggonit if I can’t claim part of my heritage because my first cousin isn’t full blood. I don’t know a single person that speaks spanish in my family. That doesn’t mean that I can’t be part.

Cute girls. So to wow in your rule book if you have a grandparent that is one quarter native on one side of your family. As well as Native ancestry on your other side of the family. You have evident Native American features your not qualified to claim your Native Ancestry… Funny!! I like how you said full blood or half….. like both parents couldnt have some Native Ancestry. Luckily the Native Americans don’t follow your rules you could be as little as 1/8 Native and if the money and resources are available you could recieve college funds. So anyone reading this don’t listen to the garbadge that Wow just posted!

The Cherokee tribe just happens to be on of the largest tribes with over 250,000 registered members. That’s why almost everyone who is Native American says that they are “Cherokee”; it’s because it is so common. I do agree though that most people either lie or don’t really know what tribe their ancestors were in because it usually goes so far back. The way I see it; if you are not registered and do not have a relative that YOU know personally (i.e. who is ALIVE) who is at least full blooded or half then it is irrelevant to say you are part Native American.

It’s amazing when people state that they are “Native American” they always say Cherokee…like they are the only tribe. Please ppl stop with the Cherokee fakeness.
